Softball door-hanger craft idea help?

We’re making door hangers, about 18″ X 18″ with a softball theme. They are for 9-10 yr old girls who like the latest stuff yet are not afraid to get their shoes dirty. 
They should be inexpensive and easy to make by us moms this next weekend with stuff we can get at Hobby Lobby (a big craft store in Texas) or Wal-Mart.
We already have the white foam boards too, so we just need an idea to decorate them and a border idea. You all always help with great answers! Thanks in advance!
How about different-colored sneakers made from cut pieces of felt. Both WalMart and Hobby Lobby carry those felt squares for about 20c each. You can cut the snealer shape out of felt and then decorate it with other felt cut-outs or simply fabric paint. Both places sell that, too. Tulip brand now has a fabric paint that is brush-on only, so watch out for that one. They still sell the kind you can write and draw with, too.
Green felt, cut to look like grass, would make a fun border, I’m thinking. Felt can be glued on with Aleene’s Tacky White Glue, which is also easily available at both those shops.
You can make them in the shape of home plate with they saying, “A girl’s place is at home.”
You can make the softball “diamond” with the saying of, “Diamonds ARE a girl’s best friend.”
Get a paper doll template to make the players, you can cut the arms and legs off the body to re-assemble them in the position that you want/need. You dress them once you have the body shape you like. You can have one sliding on the grass with they saying, “Girls love dirt.”
Make the team using the paper dolls with the saying “Dugout Divas.”
