You may end up waiting a long time. Our squadron filled it’s available GED slots for the year before October was over. Normal GED qualifications are as follows:

65+ on the ASVAB
No moral/drug/dependancy waivers
All other qualifications I can think of are the same as anybody else.

Or go to your local CC and take 15 semester/22 quarter credits of college.

Unless you have a GED with at least 15 college credits hours, you cannot join. You cannot join the USAF with just a GED. No waivers. Doesn’t matter what you make on the ASVAB.

There is no “General Enlistment”. You will pick an AFSC and that is the job you will do for 4-6 years. After you first enlistment, you can apply for Cross Training but it is no guaranteed. Get the 15 hours of college credit that is required, take the ASVAB and see if you qualify for Aerospace Maintenance. You may not be able to cross-train later.

go to your local recruiter, then in training they’ll teach you to be an air craft mechanic and then if you want to get a degree in aviation mechanics training counts as college credits and then you’ll just need generals at a two year college

You will need a high ASVAB score and or 15 college credits in the right course study. Contact a Air Force Recruiter for the Information you need, that way it will be the correct info and not the normal bull you will find here. Good Luck

See a Air Force Recruter, he/she will have you signed up in 10 minutes. This will be a general enlistment. Further down the road you will have to go to Officers Training School for any other action.

Give them a call. They’ll be at your door.
Be careful and work hard.
