Does anyone know the laws or liscenses needed to sell home baked items?
Genesee asked:
Hello,
What are the laws or liscenses needed to sell home baked items in the state of Ohio? I would mainly be starting at Farmer’s Markets and craft shows. My reason for asking is that I have a web-site all about chocolate. I have had many requests for products to sell. I have also been asked to participate in a chocolate festival in which requires that each vendor pass out samples. Can anyone give me any information about this?

Fun of Bead Crafts
Steve Manik asked:
Craft beads have been utilized for making jewelry and decorative pieces for centuries. In olden times stones, turtle shells and animal horns etc. were used for making decorative pieces. Now beads are made of semi-precious stones wood, glass and plastic. The possibilities with craft beads are unlimited.
Craft bead projects range from beginner’s to advanced and complicated designs. You may buy craft bead kits online or from local craft shop. If you have supply of craft beads, you may look for patterns and designs online.
The most common use of craft beads is for making jewelry. You may also make holiday things like beaded Christmas trees or you may put beads on household items it will give them a new look. Another interesting item can be to weave small beads in intricate designs to make beautiful flowers.
Craft beads are made of various materials like glass, metal, terracotta wood, plastic, stone, bone, ivory, ceramic fiber, shell, coral, gemstones, etc. You can make any number of shapes with beads like oval, cylindrical, square, heart and flower.
The price of beads depends on what they are made of, their utility and their age. You may even take out beads from your old necklace or some other jewelry and make them into a new piece which you will love.
You can make unique jewelry for yourself and decorative gifts for your loved ones. If you are making your own design, ensure that you have all the craft beads and other things you may require. You can do it by planning your projects.
To complete the project, you will require craft beads, wire, wire cutters and crimp beads. Crimp beads are soft metal and are utilized to finish a strand of beads. For making jewelry you will require proper clasp also.
In the history of mankind beads have been used as personal jewelry, as money and as trading goods and as decorative pieces. To work with beads you require a few simple tools like round and flat nosed pliers, wire cutters and different types and sizes of tweezers. To attach beads to each other or on to other surface, you will require some type of wire along with a crimping tool.
If you don’t like to use wire for your craft beads you may utilize silk thread which is available in a number of colors and thicknesses. Nylon or synthetic threads are also generally utilized along with French wire.
If you are thinking of making jewelry, the best option is to pick a book at your local library and learn about the tools, the process of making beautiful and useful designs which people will be proud to wear.
For others working with beads is not so involved. Making Native American crafts needs small glass beads if you are planning of making designs on loom, which then can be sewn to moccasins or clothing, glass beads are also used in making beautiful dream catchers and medicine wheel that are quite popular in the Midwestern and Southern United States of America.

What is a good name for a dockside pub in a small fishing community?
SayWhat? asked:
I want the name to be followed by Dockside Pub in the same way that Applebee’s is followed by neighborhood grille and bar
I want the name to be followed by Dockside Pub in the same way that Applebee’s is followed by neighborhood grille and bar
This is an alcohol only pub, no food will be served.
It is a blue collar community. The tourists are of the retired fisherman variety in a part of the state with a lot of arts and crafts attractions. It just only 2 miles downstream from a major tourist attraction, Branson and the Branson Landing riverwalk. We are looking for a ‘catchy’ name. We considered the name ‘Happy Hooker’, a play on words for fisherman but the connotation scared us off. Any suggestions?
nuclear power on a space shuttle to seperate the oxygen from the air to fuel a craft into space?
Jonny G asked:
Ok so from my last answers I see that we need a device to combust, or we could use engines (jets) to produce the necessary thrust in order to propell the craft into space. Someone also stated that nuclear is unsafe, if this is the case then can we make it safe and light? Which do you think is better with nuclear, using it to power a craft via engine, or use it to seperate water/air for fuel to propel?

Retirement
Bob Taylor asked:
It’s difficult to tell what we’re going to be satisfied with after our days of work have finished.
Have you ever actually sat and pondered retirement? What will you do on a day-to-day basis once you’re finally finished with your career? Will you go sailing on that dream yacht it took you twenty years to pay off? Will you venture all over the United States in search of quaint towns and antique shops? Or maybe you’re more interested in just kicking back at the old homestead and reading the paper. This routine certainly varies from person to person.
Fortunately if we can’t seem to come up with any wonderful ideas, there are always crafts for the elderly available.
I often wondered why my grandfather had retired in his sixties. Oh, don’t get me wrong; I know that most individuals tend to retire around age sixty two or so, but he just seemed too rambunctious. He was always so full of energy. I couldn’t really see him just hanging around the house all day. I knew that he would need some entertaining crafts for the elderly to keep him busy. In no time at all, he was painting like a mad man. I was amazed at how divine his technique became over the next few months. Anything with wildlife or outdoor settings was his forte. Now, this is definitely more healthy that those retired folks who mow their lawns on a daily basis. I often wonder about their level of sanity.
Have you ever come across crafts for the elderly? Now, keep in mind that these can range from any variety of things. It all truly depends on what you’re interested in. Do you like building bird houses or possible sketching and painting? These are fascinating crafts for the elderly.
Do you have a home computer available?
Are you searching high and low for decent crafts for the elderly? Hey, it’s time to get in the know, people. All that you can imagine regarding crafts for the elderly can be spotted in cyberspace. Not only can you find out what all is available online, but you can actually learn how to do several crafts for the elderly just by sitting at your computer. Sort through a number of web pages that specialize in crafts for the elderly. Find that ideal hobby for your grandparents, parents, or even yourself. The World-Wide-Web makes it a synch.

Crafting A Career In Teaching
Tony Jacowski asked:
Teaching influences childrens’ developing minds and it inspires and dispels ignorance. The teaching field is vast and has many areas of specialization, different skills and type of teaching at various levels. People generally choose this profession for various reasons, for example if they love to teach and mingle with kids, or if they have a burning desire to impart their knowledge or if they feel teaching is the way to influence the future positively.
Teaching involves an unrestrained enthusiasm for the emotional and intellectual nurturing of others. Good teachers can bring out the best from every human being by watching their lack of interest and curiosity and then molding it in the positive way.
If you have unrestrained enthusiasm for this noble profession, then you can craft a successful teaching career. Here are a few tips:
-If you feel you have an urge to be with children, then first analyze whether this is just a product of imagination or for real. Start and analyze your urge by working with children or organizing summer camps or try and baby-sit kids. Try and spend maximum time with kids, and understand the age group with whom you share a comfort level.
-Once you understand your comfort level and your style, then you will have a better idea of whether you should work at elementary or secondary level. Teaching any group has its requirements; for example, you would need a degree in elementary education to teach at elementary level and a high school degree or specialized education to teach specific subjects.
-Before you enroll for certification, conduct some research, as each state has its own requirements for teaching. While some states require their public school teachers to hold a bachelors degree, some states will let you qualify for teaching credentials if you have teaching experience.
-If you are an undergrad and are pursuing your bachelor’s degree, then you can start of initially as a teacher’s assistant and then become a substitute teacher. There is nothing like gaining classroom experience to get a clear picture of the job. Experience always looks great on a resume.
-A teaching job is not as easy as it may appear; especially if the school that you are considering teaching at is not well funded. You can get help from your college counseling centers who can guide you with their invaluable services, by helping you with job searches for teaching positions.
In order to be successful in this profession, you must first understand the psychology of the student and understand that all students have the potential to grow. You as a teacher can help them find and expand that potential by understanding each student. Each child’s experiences are different, and so are their cultures and learning styles.
